Tapiutan Site: Dive into Hidden Caverns and Boulders in El Nido
Explore a remote dive site with towering boulders, mysterious caverns, and plenty of nudibranchs. It is a macro lover’s dream adventure!
Tapiutan dive site stands out from the rest of our dive locations due to its unique underwater landscape, characterized by massive boulders, intriguing swim-throughs, and small caverns. These impressive rock formations are believed to have resulted from ancient cliffside collapses over thousands of years, creating a natural underwater playground for divers to explore.
Located at the edge of Bacuit Bay, Tapiutan is about 45 minutes to an hour by boat, making it more remote and exclusive. Because of the distance, we only visit this site on special occasions, adding to its allure. The boulders offer excellent surfaces for spotting unique nudibranchs, making it a macro lover’s paradise. However, since the site is exposed to the open sea, it isn’t always accessible, especially during high winds and strong swells.
For those lucky enough to dive here, there’s even a chance to spot blacktip reef sharks—one of the few places in the area where they still occasionally make an appearance, creating an unforgettable experience when they do.
