This is serious fun. Serious because the Rescue Diver course teaches you how to prevent problems and how to manage them if they occur. This course is more physically demanding than any diving you have done so far. Fun because this course is all about overcoming challenges in a kickass way.
how does it work?
The course typically takes 3 days to complete, but is performance-based training. First, there are several skills that your instructor will practice with you in an open water environment (self-rescuing skills; search patterns; in-water rescue breathes). Once you master the skills individually, it will be time to test them in more realistic situations…
You need to learn how to deal with rescue scenarios in realistic open water situations. For this, your instructor will set up two simulated dive emergencies, which you will then manage from start to finish. Needless to say, you will need to employ the skills acquired during your theory and skills practice in order to ensure everyone survives.
You will need a valid EFR (First Aid, Secondary Care & CPR) training with a recognized organization within the last 2 years. You can also complete the First Aid training with us before the Rescue Course starts.
A Typical Schedule
Palawan Divers usually plans 3 dives per day. We meet at 8:00am and are back at around 3:30pm. The quality, safety and comfort of your course are very important to us, so you can expect the focused, undivided attention of our staff. We limit the number of divers per boat, with a maximum of 2 students per instructor.
