Minimum Requirements to Enroll in the IDC

Before enrolling in the PADI IDC, ensure you meet the following prerequisites:

  • Age: At least 18 years old.
  • Certification: Certified as a PADI Divemaster or hold an equivalent leadership-level certification from another recognized diving organization.
  • Diving Experience: A minimum of 60 logged dives to start the IDC and 100 logged dives to attend the Instructor Examination (IE).
  • Medical Clearance: A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months, confirming fitness for diving.
  • CPR and First Aid Training: Completed an Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or equivalent) course within the past 24 months.
